This song to me talks about a woman who is strong and fighting back against the controlling and abusive ways a man treated her. That she is her own person and will not be bullied or silenced anymore. Some men think that they can control and manipulate women. That they are better or greater. That they never need a ‘bitch’ and that they are what a ‘bitch’ needs. I suspect there is mental health connotations within the lyrics with ‘roof was on fire’ suggesting his mind wasn’t healthy and that he was dishonest in letting her know about his disorder. Sure there is sometimes mental health issues involved in relationships but those aside, one must always consciously be aware of their behaviour towards another and ask themselves if they would like to be treated this way themselves.

Ultimately she did the right thing for her. She said she would ‘leave the party without ever letting him know’ as in leave the relationship and blocked him out of her life. Most likely for her own safety.
